AAEON has released a new PC/104+ module, the PFM-HDS. This compact, rugged and stackable embedded computing module features the latest AMD G-Series T16R Accelerated Processing Unit and companion A55E chipset, and therefore offers compatibility with legacy I/O, low power consumption and excellent processing and graphic performances for rugged applications that have limited budget concerns.
In addition, with support of up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, it is ready to handle complex computing tasks with enough speed and efficiency to also handle dedicated and routine operations.
The highly ruggedized and stackable interface of the PFM-HDS PC/104+ module makes it ideal for high vibration or harsh environment applications such as in-vehicle systems and other small foot print portable computing applications.
Three RS-232, one RS-232/422/485 with auto flow, four USB 3.0 and an 8-bit Digital I/O port are provided for easy integration with other system components. In addition to the PCI and ISA expansion for legacy devices this PC/104+ system offers excellent connectivity through the use of the 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet with wake on LAN functionality. Multimedia support is offered through the 18-bit LVDS, VGA with Full HD support and HD audio in/out jacks.
The PFM-HDS offers a range of storage options for data and OS support include high bandwidth SATA 3.0Gb/s and the increasingly popular CFast module interface. Because of its diminutive size at just 103mm x 96mm and only 10W driven by a 5V or AT/ATX power supply, this fanless, ultra-low power PC/104+ board is a perfect match for ruggedized industrial systems and field instruments, as well as small interactive devices that require audio and video connectivity.
