Avanceret ventilatorkontrol til industrielle racksystemer
MSC Technologies har udviklet en intelligent elektronikenhed, der kan styrer op til fire ventilatorer i et 19" industriel racksystem (in english).
MSC Technologies has developed for its high-performance 19-inch industrial systems, an intelligent electronics unit from the Infinity family that can control as many as four PWM fans. It so optimizes the cooling of high-end computers with more than two fans and prevents potential damage caused by excessive temperature in the housing. If one fan fails completely, the remaining fans run at full speed. The values for the speeds and temperatures are updated approximately every four seconds. The unit provides the capability to activate atemperature sensor on the control circuit-board or to connectan external sensor. A PWM connection also allows the fans to be regulated by the temperature sensor of the mainboard.
Many programs for a wide range of applications can be stored in the microcontroller memory area. A special program can be selected with the jumpers JP1 - JP4 (4-bit address, 16 different configurations).
The error states are shown on an LED. Regular flashing indicates that at least one fan has stopped; irregular flashing indicates that the selected temperature sensor does not function correctly.
The temperature control operates between 30° C and 60° C; the minimum speed is 30% of the total power. Above 30° C, the speed increases by 2% per degree. When the temperature reaches 60° C, all PWM fans rotate automatically at maximum speed. To protect the powerful computers, all operational fans run at maximum power, even when a PWM fan fails, when no external PWM signal comes from the mainboard or when the temperature sensor fails (internal/external).
