Atlantik Elektronik præsenterer Lantronix’s xPico Wi-Fi modul til overflademontage (in english).
Atlantik Elektronik presents the Lantronix xPico Wi-Fi SMT embedded device server. The certified, compact Wi-Fi surface-mount module enables quick and easy serial-to-Wi-Fi connectivity. The xPico is intended for engineers interested in creating innovative Internet of Things (IoT) applications and solutions, especially designs that need direct access to device data via smartphone, tablets, and connected PCs. It extends the features and benefits of Lantronix' existing xPico Wi-Fi module to a surface-mountable form factor.- The xPico Wi-Fi SMT helps customers to completely offload their Wi-Fi connectivity tasks and simplifies device manufacturing workflows and processes, says Ottmar Flach, CEO of Atlantik Elektronik.
- With a tiny footprint, choice of antenna options, Web Service API and a flexible microcontroller software interface, the new SMT version is now more than ever a perfect fit for IoT devices that need to quickly communicate with the cloud, as well as directly connect via mobile devices.
The xPico Wi-Fi SMT modules include simultaneous soft-AP and client modes, which permit direct access without disconnecting from the enterprise wireless network. This direct mobile access capability along with a complete Wi-Fi connectivity reduces the complexity and load of the application microcontroller (MCU).
The module also features complete network protocol implementations such as built-in web server, TCP/IP network stack, file system, and network connection management. All this can be utilized without writing complex application logic. The device is industrial ready, operating from -40 to +85°C.
Over-the-air (OTA) updates and a web service API enable easier upgrades and communications, all with 256-bit AES encryption for security. To meet a variety of application requirements, the device is available in the surface mount version and with a connector, with an optional on-board antenna or a U.Fl connector for an external antenna. The server, which is modular certified and CE approved, measures only 18.3 x 31.1 x 3mm.
