Danske NeoCortec er klar med robust gateway-løsning

NeoCortec, der udvikler Wireless Mesh netværk til IoT applikationer, lancerer nu NeoGateway. Der er tale om en alsidig og robust gateway, der forbinder NeoMesh sensornetværket til IP-verdenen (in english).

In an effort to simplify the world of IoT, Danish company NeoCortec has developed NeoMesh, a complete, autonomous, and self-containing wireless mesh network targeting low power sensor type applications. NeoMesh has a strong focus on user-friendliness and short time-to-market, together with being a versatile wireless connectivity solution with very few technical limitations.

Now, to make it even easier for developers to get their IoT network up and running, NeoCortec releases NeoGateway, an ultra versatile low cost gateway to connect the NeoMesh network to the IP world.

NeoGateway is provided as Open Source software designed to work on the Raspberry Piplatform but can also easily be ported to operate on most Linux systems. It can easily be adapted to interface with cloud based services as well as local or remote proprietary servers. Only limited hardware resources are required, and the software can run on most embedded platforms with little adjustment required.

NeoGateway is another step for NeoCortec in its ambition to offer sensor network technology superior to other current solutions, not only on parameters like scalability, power consumption, and security, but also regarding ease-of-use, cost-of-ownership, and versatility.

Other key features of NeoMesh building on this strategy are:

- Some of the world’s smallest modules for wireless ad hoc networking, with built-in security and resilience, easy to integrate into the final application

-  An evaluation kit making it easy to get started. The NeoMesh evaluation kit takes you through a few preliminary steps and you are ready to build your own application. The system is integrated into modules, meaning you can quickly design the network you need

-  Extreme scalability and robustness - the network forms automatically, and it can grow really big. The protocol stack allows for up to 65K nodes in one network

- Unique protocol - the patented NeoMesh Wireless Mesh Networking Protocol replaces the central Network Manager with autonomous intelligent nodes capable of linking to each other in one single network that simply works, no matter how big it gets. The patented routing mechanism routes data seamlessly through the network and eliminates any concern in performance created by obstacles in the RF path, nodes being blocked or simply moving around within the network.

With NeoGateway now added to these powerful features, the NeoMesh technology will be even more attractive to the IoT developer community. NeoMesh has already generated a lot of interest in the IoT developer community, with running networks now deployed in a variety of settings, e.g. NeoMesh networks monitoring apartment and office buildings in Berlin.

The NeoGateway architecture is simple and designed in such a way that payload data being send from a node inside the NeoMesh network to the gateway node, will be delivered on the Outbound IP Socket in JSON format. Similarly, payload data being send from the IP network shall be send as a JSON formatted package to the inbound IP Socket.
