SSD hukommelser til 'Big Data' systemer
Samsung er nu i produktion med højt ydende SSD hukommelser til enterprise servere og datacentre (in english).
Samsung Electronics is now supplying a solid state drive (SSD), the SM843T, for use in high-performance servers and storage in next-generation data centers, including 'Big Data' systems.
- Samsung Green SSD products have been widely acknowledged for their superior performance and quality design contributing to data center system improvements and operational cost savings, says Young-Hyun Jun, executive vice president, memory sales & marketing, Samsung Electronics.
- In response to customer demand, we are accelerating the growth of the flash storage market with new SSD offerings this year like the SM843T while reinforcing our competitive edge in next-generation SSD products and solutions.
Samsung's new SM843T strengthens its most recent enterprise SSD product lineups, adding to the SM843 and the PM843 that were introduced last year. By offering up to 960 gigabytes (GB) of memory storage in the SM843T, Samsung is taking the lead in expanding the availability of high-capacity SSDs, after increasing its product line-up to include 512GB SSDs for the high performance PC and ultra-slim notebook market segments last year.
The new Samsung SM843T line-up boasts high endurance levels, reaching up to 20,000 sequential TBW (Terabytes Written) with the 960GB model, while providing an ideal environment for big data systems.
The 960GB SM843T also offers 98,000 (sustained) random read IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second), which is the industry's fastest IOPS level for SSDs having a SATA interface.
When equipping enterprise servers in data centers with a combination of SM843T SSDs and 20 nanometer (nm) class DDR3 DRAM, IT managers will see a performance gain of 6 times and energy savings of 30 percent over the widely-used combination of hard disk drives and 40nm-class DDR3 DRAM, therefore enabling optimal system-level performance and energy efficiency at the same time.
In addition, the Samsung SM843T protects the most recent data being processed from a sudden power interruption for enhanced system reliability. Along with this power loss protection, the Samsung SM843T achieves the highest QoS (Quality of Service) level required by global cloud service providers and financial authorities.
According to IHS iSuppli, global SSD market revenues will grow up to approximately 10 billion dollars by the end of 2013, which represents about a 43 percent increase over the previous year, while the sale of enterprise SSDs is taking an approximately 47 percent market share in leading the growth of the total SSD market.
