Single-chip IO-Link chips går nu i produktion
IO-Link er en ny seriel kommunikations-protokol til brug i sensorer og aktuatorer i industrielle automationssystemer (in english).
Renesas Electronics has started mass production of all of its products in the series of single-chip IO-Link solutions. These solutions are all available in small 8x8mm QFN packages and combine Renesas Electronics’ All Flash 78K0R 16-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) and physical layer transceivers from ELMOS AG.
Renesas Electronics provides an extensive product range to include a choice of memory variants all in the same device package. System designers can choose from 32KB to 128KB of Flash memory in 4 variants.
IO-Link is the new standard serial digital communications protocol used for sensors and actuators in industrial automation systems. IO-Link offers the following key advantages:
- Compatible integration into existing field bus or Industrial Ethernet environments
- Process, parameter and diagnosis data in one cable
- Compatible cabling to existing sensor communication
The mass production of Renesas Electronics’ IO-Link slave solutions started today and is expected to reach 500,000 units per month by Q3 2011.
