
Renesas lancerer starterkit til den nye RZ/A familie
Renesas er klar med starterkit til den nye RZ/A1 familie, der sigter mod HMI-applikationer (in english).
Renesas Electronics Europe has announced the availability of the Renesas Starter Kit for the RZ/A1 family of embedded processors. The RSK is the ideal starting point for design and creation of Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications and features everything needed for the development process. It has been specifically designed to reduce time to market and assist Renesas customers in creating rich HMI systems in the shortest time possible.In 2013, Renesas launched the RZ/A1 device family featuring the world’s largest on chip SRAM of 10MB. It has been specially designed to meet the requirements of the graphical user interface developer, as it is able to drive screens up to XGA size without the need for external RAM. It is set to revolutionise the market, filling the gap in the market between the more traditional microcontroller and microprocessor solutions.
The Renesas Starter Kit, which is launched today, features a development board with the device itself as well as connectors for all the major supported communications peripherals on the device. These include CAN, Ethernet, camera interface, audio interface, SD card, USB 2.0 host and USB 2.0 function.
The kit is supplied with a 7-inch WVGA touch panel screen, so that systems designers can develop their own GUI directly on the development board.
In addition, it also includes all of the standard hardware features needed to start an evaluation or development, including a Segger JLINK-lite JTAG debugger, universal power supply and a PMOD debug screen to assist with application debugging.
From a software point of view, the kit is supported by both the ARM® IAR IDE and the ARM® DS-5 IDE. Additionally, the kit is supplied with a free GCC compiler, meaning that there are no additional costs from a software tools point of view to start programming.
The kit also comes with over 15 different software examples, which include all source code demonstrating the capability of the device and form the basis of any developments customers may want to use.
There are four versions of the RSK available: a board only solution, options with and without the TFT screen, and with and without the debugger, ensuring that customers do not need to pay for tools that they do not require.
